Lachlan is an experienced human-centred researcher and designer, specialising in regulatory design and systems innovation. With a background in economics and finance, he brings analytical depth and structured thinking to complex design challenges—balancing system-level strategy with the real-world experiences of people interacting within those systems. 

Lachlan is known for his confident, grounded approach to stakeholder engagement, qualitative research, co-design facilitation, and rapid prototyping. He is a trusted collaborator who quickly builds rapport with clients and communities, ensuring that insights are clearly surfaced and translated into practical, human-centred solutions. 

His recent work includes leading research for WorkSafe ACT on silica dust exposure in the construction industry and co-developing risk-based regulatory frameworks for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) to support biosecurity outcomes. His contribution to the silica dust project was recognised with a Gold Award at the 2023 Good Design Awards. 

Lachlan has worked across government and non-government sectors, engaging stakeholders in metropolitan, rural, and regional contexts across Australia. He is a member of The Research Society and applies a systems-thinking lens to every project—ensuring that design solutions are evidence-based, scalable, and meaningful. 

He holds a Bachelor of Economics and Finance and brings empathy, clarity, and adaptability to every engagement.
